Tamagawa Gakuen (Tamagawa Educational Institution) was founded in 1927 as an
elementary school. Tamagawa now is the synthetic institution which
provides various educational activities through the kindergarten division
to the graduate course on a 120 acre campus. Although Tamagawa is an urban
university that is located just 20 miles (30km) away from metropolitan of
Tokyo, it is granted rich nature. About 60 kinds of wild birds are
observed in the campus every year. The campus is a perfect oasis in
the urban city where birds can rest.The university consists of departments of Arts/Education, Agriculture, Engineering, Management, Distance Education and Graduate Division. The Junior College for Women offers three courses - General Education, Early Childhood Education and Post- Graduate, which help to enhance the employment possibility after the graduation. Also Tamagawa includes several overseas training sessions including short and long study abroad in order to promote a better understanding of cultural exchange.
